West won the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association inter-area girls’ team championship after a tense finish to the two-day contest at Ballumbie Castle Golf Club, Monifieth today.
All four teams went into the final matches on level terms, each having won once and lost once. In the decisive games, North beat East 2-1 and West beat South 2-1. That meant that North and West were level at the top of the final table with two wins apiece.
The tie-breaker was the number of individual games won and West (+20) came out on top over North (+9) in this.
