PICTURED BELOW: Paul Lawrie and the 120 competitors from 77 nations who make up a record field for the 6th staging of the R and A's biennial showpiece for Under-16 golfing talent - the Junior Open.
The tournament tees off at Lundin Golf Club, Fife on Monday and last three days although only the boys and girls with low handicaps will play three rounds. Those with higher handicaps will play 36 holes.
It's the golfing trip of a lifetime for some kids who have never been outside the boundaries of their native lands before. They will cap it all by watching the first three days of the Open championship over the Old Course.
Lawrie presented each of the 120 boys and girls with a special competitors' badge, made by the R and A, which they will no doubt treasure for the rest of their lives, even if they go on, like Paul Lawrie, to become an Open champion.
