Harriet Owers-Bradley wins

Midlands North championship

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH
WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Nottinghamshire’s Harriet Owers-Bradley (pictured right) won a marathon final to become the Midlands North regional women’s champion at Market Drayton Golf Club, Shropshire.
Harriet, a student at Yale University, USA, finally clinched the title when she beat top qualifier Kim Bradbury of Derbyshire on the 20th hole.
The final was tight throughout. Harriet held the early lead but then Kim pulled her back and edged ahead. Harriet birdied the 17th, from behind the green, to get back to level, both players birdied the 18th and parred the 19th before the title was decided on the risk and reward second hole.
Harriet is a past winner of the former Midland ladies’ championship.
The Plate final was won by Holly Langford of Perton Park, Staffordshire.
The championship was contested by golfers from the six counties in the EWGA Midlands North region: Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
