Late entries being accepted for Tain four-day women's open

The 2012 Scottish women's amateur championship will be played at Tain Golf Club, north of Inverness. If any Kirkwoodgolf.co.uk female reader fancies an early practice round or two, then you can enter the TAIN four-day women's open from Monday to Thursday, August 2 to 5.
This is the event's second year and perhaps the word has not spread far enough south yet for there to be a
flood of entries from south and east of Inverness.
There will be 18-hole stroke-play qualifying rounds on the Monday and Tuesday. The best eight will qualify for the scratch match-play, the best eight net for the handicap match-play.
One round of match-play will be played on Wednesday, August 4 with the semi-finals and finals on the Thursday.
The event is sponsored by Tain Pottery, who are donating pottery as prizes. There will also be SGU vouchers for prizewinners.
For those not qualifying for the match-play, there will be a consolation Stableford and also, on the Friday (August 6), weather permitting, there will be a pairs scramble, both of which are free to enter for competitors in the four-day day tournament. The entry fee for visitors is £40. There will be a full week of evening social events.
If you really want to make a week of it at Tain, the Tain women's open is being held on Saturday, August 7.
It is also sponsored by Tain Pottery.
Late entries will be accepted by contacting Tain Golf Club on 01862 892314
