PAMELA FINISHES SIXTH IN EUROPEAN EVENT

Glasgow University student Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle) finished a creditable sixth in a big field for the European women’s individual amateur championship at Kuneticka Hora Golf Resort in the Czech Republic today.
The Curtis Cup Scot from Hamilton had steady rounds of 70, 72, 71 and 72 for a three-under-par ttal of 285 – five shots behind the German winner, Sophia Popov who had scores of 69, 69, 69 and 73.
Leona Maguire, 15-year-old Irish twin and Curtis Cup player, finished fifth on 284 with scores of 75, 67, 71 and 71.
Louise Kenney from Pitreavie, Dunfermline finished joint 34th on 293 with rounds of 73, 74, 72 and 74.
