Two Irish girls qualify for US Women's Amateur Championship
Two Irish girls have qualified at different venues this week for next month's United States Women's Amateur Championship at Charlotte Country Club, North Carolina (August 9 to 15).
Curtis Cup reserve, teenager Stephanie Meadow from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland but a resident student at the Hank Hainey International Golf Academy, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, got in on the limit mark of 74 in the qualifier at Broofield Country Club, Roswell in the state of Georgia. Only five players went through to the championship from this venue.
Sarah Faller from Galway, a student at the University of Denver, qualified at Green Gables Contry Club in Denver. She was the best of five qualifiers at this venue with a 75.
