European Junior Ryder Cup
team for Gleneagles
By SARAH GWYNN
European Tour Press Officer
North Wales golfer Amy Boulden will replace Leona Maguire in the European Junior Ryder Cup team for the contest against the United States at The Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire on September 27 – 28.
Boulden, 16, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, from Landudno, Wales, won the Carwyn James Young Sportswoman of the Year Award in 2009 and was one of the youngest players in the field at the recent Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale.
The Junior Ryder Cup celebrates the progress and hard work taking place at the grass roots level of golf, which helps talented young players develop into national team amateurs and some even to The Ryder Cup itself. The collaboration between PGA professionals and junior organisers at club level and PGAs and governing bodies at a national level help these youngsters develop into Junior Ryder Cup players.
The European Junior Ryder Cup Team:
Isabella Deilert, Sweden
Manon Mollé, France
Amy Boulden, Wales
Albert Eckhardt, Finland
Kristoffer Ventura, Norway
Juhana Kukkonen, Finland
Kelly Tidy, England
Manon Gidali, France
Klara Spilkova, Czech Republic
Thomas Detry, Belgium
Moritz Lampert, Germany
Chris Lloyd, England
Non-travelling reserve:
Adrian Otaegui, Spain
