EWGA-EGU MERGER PROPOSAL TIMETABLE EXTENDED
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
The English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) and the English Golf Union (EGU) have extended the timetable for the preparation of a proposal to merge the two organisations.
This will allow detailed work to be completed on the proposed articles of association of a new, merged company.
The joint steering group from the two organisations had hoped to put a merger proposal to the July board meetings of both the EWGA and EGU.
But steering group members have agreed to defer this step until after their next scheduled meeting on 7 September 2010.
Once a merger proposal has been finalised and approved by the two boards it will be published and circulated to members of both organisations. EWGA will hold a series of roadshows to further inform its members about the proposal.
The decision on a merger will be made by the voting members of both organisations at general meetings held on the same day. These are now expected to take place early in 2011.
