EWGA name four for U16 mixed match against Spain at Pannal

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Four teenagers from EWGA training squads will represent England in the annual U16 mixed match against Spain at Pannal, Yorkshire, on August 24.
The match precedes the North of England U16 strokeplay championship, which will be played at Pannal from August 25-27 and two more players will complete the English Women’s Golf Association squad for this event.

The girls selected to play against Spain are: Meghan MacLaren (Wellingborough), Georgina Mundy (Dunwood Manor), Brogan Townend (Pleasington) and Olivia Winning (Rotherham).

They will be joined for the strokeplay championship by Amber Ratcliffe (Royal Cromer) and Shelby Smart (Knowle). The captain will be EWGA’s national junior coach, Pat Smillie.

All six girls are members of EWGA training squads: Meghan, the English schools’ champion; and Amber, the English U16 schools’ champion, are both in Select Midlands; Georgina and Shelby are in Select South West, while Brogan and Olivia are members of Select North.
