JULIE AND KIRSTEN WIN

SHIRE LADY-GIRL

GREENSOMES

Inverurie's Julie Henderson and Deeside junior member Kirsten Pryde, pictured right, won the Aberdeenshire woman-girl greensomes at wet and windy Banchory Golf Club today.
They returned a gross 75 - good scoring in the testing conditions - to win by two shots from the Hazlehead pairing of Lesley Thomson and junior Claire Prouse.
Banchory's Morag Clapperton and Aboyne youngster Kim Beveridge came third on 82.
It's been a good past couple of weeks for past Aberdeenshire women's county champion, Julie Henderson. She won the Bennachie Ladies League's Champion of Champions' match-play tournament recently.
The top net score at Banchory was a 67 1/2 by Deeside Golf Club mother and daughter combination of Ishbel and Fiona Sutherland off a handicap of 23 1/2.
Fifteen pairs took part and all enjoyed a free meal in the Banchory clubhouse before the presentation of prizes.
