KELSEY LEADS THE WAY IN BELGIUM

Scottish women's champion Kelsey Macdonald, playing in the event for the fourth year in a row, leads by two strokes at the halfway stage of the girls' section of the Belgian junior international golf tournament at Royal Golf Club of Belgium near Brussels.
The 19-year-old Stirling University student and Nairn Dunbar GC member, in her last year of eligibility, kept her head down to return a battling one-over-par 73 in windy conditions for the second round over a Ravenstein course playing much longer after heavy overnight rain.
Kelsey's eagle 3 at the first hole gave her just the kind of start she needed in the conditions. She also had a birdie at the 14th to lessen the damage of inevitable bogeys at the sixth, seventh, eighth and 15th.
MacDonald has a two-shot lead from Anais Maggetti (Switzerland) and Fanny Cnops (Belgium).
Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies), the 15-year-old Scottish girls champion, is having a tough time over a course, unlike Kelsey, she had never seen before this week. Lesley has had a pair of 89s for 178 and is in danger of missing the third-round cut which will reduce the girls' field to the leading 30 players.
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) is in joint position in the boys' event with rounds of 72 and 75 for 147 while Liam Johnston (Dumfries and Co) has scored 72 and 77 for 149 and a share of 20th position.
Germany's Yannick Bludau (70-68) on 138 leads by one stroke from Ireland's Luke Lennox (69-70).
