LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR

South African Pace wins by three strokes at Conwy

FROM THE AOL GOLF NEWS SERVICE
South Africa's Lee-Anne Pace won the S4C Wales Women's Championship of Europe, thanks to a final round 70.
Pace bounced back from carding a double bogey 6 at the first hole to finish on six under par and take victory by three shots at the Conwy Golf Club.
She responded immediately with a birdie at the second and picked up three more shots on the back nine to see herself home and pocket the £45,000 first prize.
England's Melissa Reid and Holland's Christel Boeljon finished tied second, Reid finishing with a 68 and Boeljon with a 71.
Reid carded four birdies in a row starting at the 12th but could not continue that momentum on the final three holes.
The title was Pace's second on the Ladies European Tour, having won the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open in June.
"It's my second win and the feeling doesn't go away. I'm very, very happy," Pace, who led by two shots overnight, said on the Ladies European Tour official website.
"It was a shaky first hole. I let two shots slip there but I had them in the bank. I came back with a birdie on the next hole so it settled my nerves a little bit. Then on the back nine Mel started making birdies and made four birdies in a row. It was quite hard to keep my mind off that but luckily I made a birdie on 16 which kind of sealed the deal."
France's Anne-Lise Caudal was a shot further back after a 67 with another English player, Karen Stupples, fifth on one under after a 69.
