REBECCA AND LAUREN IN SEMI-FINALS


OF ST ANDREWS JUNIOR LADIES OPEN

Two Scots and two English players will contest Thursday morning's semik-finals of the St Andrews Junior Ladies Open scratch match-play tournament for the Golf Monthly Trophy over the Old Course.
Top seed Rebecca Wilson (Grange) from Monifieth) will meet Emma Harris, the No 12 qualifier from Peel on the Isle of Man while Lauren Whyte from the St Regulus club in St Andrews, meets US college circuit player Olivia Jordan-Higgins from the Royal Jersey club.
In the quarter-finals over the Eden Course,Wilson beat Tara McTaggart (Minto) by 4 and 3. Harris was a 2 and 1 winner of Lianna Bailey (Notts Ladies).
In the bottom half of the draw, Lauren Whyte had a very good 4 and 2 win over the No 2 seed, Annabel Bailey (Notts Ladies) while Jordan-Higgins bt youngster Ella Ofstedahl (Mill Green) by one hole.
In the Girls’ Open Quaich handicap match-play over the Strathtyrum Course, top seed Amy Staniford, a 15-handicapper from the Datchet club, Berkshire reached the final with a 5 and 4 win over American Heather Nail, playing off nine, from Quail Creek.
In Thursday's final over the Old Course, Amy will play Monifieth’s Heather Munro. Playng off eight, Heather beat Alexandra Tait, a 10-handicap member of the St Regulus club, by one hole.
