Sally Watson matches par in first Q round

Curtis Cup Scot Sally Watson had two birdies and two bogeys in matching the par of 72 in the first qualifying round of the United States women's amateur championship in the steamy heat of Charlotte Country Club, North Carolina.
Sally was two under par after birdieing nine and 10th but dropped shots at the short 11 th and 16th.
Curtis Cup team-mate Holly Clyburn had 76.
US based Curtis Cup reserve Stephanie Meadow was two over par after completing 16 holes.
American Rachael Rohanna leads with a seven-unde3r-p-ar 65.
Sweden's Caroline Hedwall had a 73.
