Shropshire’s Lucy Evans wins Midlands North

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATIONShropshire’s Lucy Evans scored a four-shot win in the Midlands North girls’ championship at Chevin in Derbyshire.
Lucy, who won the Shropshire county championship earlier this year, pulled away from the field in the afternoon round when she shot a two-under par 70 in wet conditions.
The 15-year-old went straight from Chevin to Pannal in Yorkshire where she is playing in this week’s North of England U16 championship.
The championship attracted competitors from all six counties in EWGA’s Midlands North region: Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
