Ashby, Hay and Lambert at Laker

Collegiate Invitational

Liam Ashby from Dublin, a student at Carson-Newman University, Tennessee, was the highest-placed British/Irish student in the Laker Collegiate Invitational which finished at Crystal Lake Golf Club, Hampton, Georgia on Tuesday.
Over a par-72 course of 7,107yd in length, Ashby had rounds of 72, 70 and 70 for a total of four-under-par 212, which tied him for fourth place in a field of 60 players behind the winner by five shots, Jake Greer (North Alabama) (67-71-68 for 206).
Ashby's team-mate, Gavin Hay from Glasgow finished joint seventh on 213 with scores of 67, 72 and 74 for 213.
England's Scott Lambert, who tied for seventh place in last week's Honda Columbia Fall Classic, had to settle for a share of 33rd spot in this one. The 21-year-old junior year student at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke and a member at Matfen Hall Golf Club, Northumberlland, had rounds of 72, 77 and 76 for 225.
North Alabama (857) won the team title ahead of Armstrong Atlantic (866). In a field of 10 teams, Carson-Newman (888) came sixth and UNC-Pembroke (895) seventh.

TEXAS DISAPPOINTMENT FOR JORDAN McCOLL

Dundee's Jordan McColl, a student at New Mexico Junior College, finished a disappointing joint 28th in a field of 63 for the LCU Fall Invitational college golf tournament at Lakeridge County Club, Lubbock in Texas earlier this week.
Scotscraig Golf Club member McColl, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency at Gulane, who lost to the eventual champion, Michael Stewart, in the sixth round of the Allied Surveyors Scottish amateur championship at Gullane at the end of July, had rounds of 76, 75 and 74 for a total of 225 over the par-72 course of 6,739yd.
He finished 15 shots behind the winner, Johan Andersson (South Nazarene) who had rounds of 71, 70 and 69 for six-under 210.

ALASDAIR FORSYTHE 12th IN OHIO

Caldwell Golf Club member Alasdair Forsythe, a student at Davis and Elkins College, West Virginia, finished 12th in the Atlantic Regional Invitational college tournament at River Greens Golf Club, Ohio this week.
Over a par-72, 64561yd course, Forsyth had rounds of 75, 76 and 71 for a total of 222 - 16 shots behind the three-shot winner, Brad Boyle (Indiana University) who had rounds of 68, 67 and 71 for 206.
