It's a piece of cake for Thurso Ladies!

Inaugurated in 1981, the Caithness and Sutherland women's inter-club competition for the Ord Salver reached its 30th milestone at Wick Golf Club last Saturday.
Wick Golf Club's Lady Captain, Christine Hunter, and Brora Golf Club's Life Member, Marlene Bokas, who has played in the event every year since 1981, cut a special birthday cake made by the Wick lady members to mark the occasion.
Brora Golf Club were the first winners of the scratch Ord Salver in 1981 and Royal Dornoch the first winners in 1981 of the handicap Beatrice Trophy, but neither club were able to put up a successful defence of the of silverware after their successes twelve months ago at Golspie.
Fifteen teams of four took part, with three scores to count and Thurso Golf Club, represented by, Eileen Manson, 79, Anne Dunnett 84, and Nadia Green, 84, combined for a winning total of 247.
Their non-counting score of 85 came from from Laura Durrand.
Over the very windy but sunny Reiss Links, Manson's 79 was also the best individual scratch score of the competition.
Scratch runners-up were the holders, Royal Dornoch 1, with a gross of 257 from Alison Bartlett 81, Denise McBride 85, Elizabeth Coghill 91 and the non- counting 96 from Trish Weekes.
The Beatrice Trophy also remained in the North, won by Reay members, Pam Bain nett 77, Patricia Macdonald nett 77,and Carole Cameron, nett 72, for a total of 226. Their non counting card of nett 79 came from Eleanor Tunn. Runners up were the hosts, Wick, with 228, Deirdre MacAngus, Doreen Cormack, Carol Place and Marion Mackay. Royal Dornoch's first team with a nett of 229 were placed third. Alison Bartlet nett 77, Denise McBride nett 72, Trish Weekes nett 80 and Elizabeth Coghill the non-counting card of nett 82.
The best individual handicap score of the competition was returned by Bonar-Bridge/Ardgay's Jeanie Hunter who returned a nett 70, off 19, on her first visit to the course.
Next year's event will be played at Brora on the last Saturday of August.
