Good start by Pfeiffer freshman Steph Peareth from Durham

Steph Peareth from Durham, a freshman student at Pfeiffer University, finished a creditable fourth in a finle of 94 in the Anderson University Invitational women's college tournament at Cobbs Glen Country Club, Anderson in South Carolina.
It was one of Steph's first outings on the US college circuit and augurs well for the future.
She had rounds of 78 and 79 for a total of 157 over the par 72, 5,821yd lay-out.
Stephen finished five strokes behind the winner, Jillian Corum (Tuscullum College) with a pair of 76s for 152.
Tuscullum (648) on the team title ahead of Pfeiffer (655) in a field of eight teams.

Megan Birdsey leads Linzi, Alyssa
at Drury Fall Shoot-out

Megan Birdseye, Linzi Allan and Alyssa Balding, the three British students on the Newman University, Kansas women's golf roster, finished 20th, joint 21st and joint 35th in a field of 109 players at the Drury University Fall Shoot-out tournament at Ledgestone Golf Club, Branson West.
Over a 5,863yd course with a par of 71, Megan, pictured, from Bedfordshire (Queensbury High former pupil) had a pair of 80s for 160.
Linzi Allan, from Ayrshire and a former pupil of Garnock Academy scored 85 and 76 for 161.
Alyssa Balding (Heaton Manager High School, Northumberland) had a pair of 82s for 164.
Winner by three shots was Mercedes Rios (Dallas Baptist) with scores of 74 and 71 for 145.
Newman (664) finished eighth of 19 in the team event behind winners Nebraska Omaha (611).

Laura Jones makes top 20 at North Texas Classic
Laura Jones (Oklahoma City University) and Jessica Schiele (Redlands Community College) finished joint 18th and joint 24th in a field of 72 players at the North Texas Classic at Golf Club at Champions Circle, Fort Worth, Texas.
Over a longish girls' course of 6,489yd (par 72), Laura, a member at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, had scores of 75, 76 and 78 for 229.
Jessica from Grimsby scored 74, 77 and 80 for 231.
North Texas (872) won the team event ahead of Sam Houston State (885) with Oklahoma City (936), seventh of 13, and Redlands (937) eighth.
