WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS

Scots share foursomes honours with Wales,

Ireland take 2-1 lead over England

A birdie at the last by Scottish champion Kelsey MacDonald and Louise Kenney helped Scotland share the honours 1 1/2-1 1/2 with Ireland in the opening foursomes of the Women's Home Internationals at Whitchurch Golf Club, Cardiff.
British stroke play champion Pamela Pretsell and Laura Murray had put a point early on the board for the Scots by beating Lucy Gould and Kath O'Connor 7 and 5.
But Wales looked at one staged as though they were going to win the two other ties.
But MacDonald and Kenney snatched a half with Tara Davies and Rebecca Harries.
Amy Boulden and Gemma Bradbury, Wales' No2 foursomes pairing, beat Martine Pow and Jane Turner by one hole after being two up on the 15th tee.
Ireland took a 2-1 foursomes lead over England.

MORNING RESULTS

iRELAND 2, ENGLAND 1
Danielle McVeigh and Charlene Reid lost to Charlotte Ellis and Tara Watters 6 and 5.
Lisa and Leona Maguire bt Kelly Tidy and Hannah Barwood 4 and 2.
Gillian O'Leary and Sinead O'Sullivan bt Nikki Foster and Charlie Douglass 1 hole.

WALES 1 1/2, SCOTLAND 1 1/2
Tara Davies and Rebeccda Harries halved with Kelsey MacDonald and Louise Kenney.
Amy Boulden and Gema Bradbury bt Martine Pow and Jane Turner 1 hole.
Lucy Gould and Kath O'Connor lost to Pamela Pretswell and Laura Murray 7 and 5.
