ANDREW McLACHLAN MAKES

TOP 10 IN TEXAS


Glasgow's Andrew McLachlan, a student at Tyler Junior College, Texas, finished joint ninth in a field of 66 at the UMHB Fall Invitational college golf tournament at Stonetree Golf Club, Killeen in Texas.
McLachlan, pictured, who enrolled as a freshman in August, had rounds of 76 and 73 for a total of 149 over the long par-72 course of 7,213yd.

He finished six shots behind the winner Marcus Cavazos (Texas and Brownville) (73-70.
McLachlan's good effort helped Tyler J C win the team title by two shots in a field of 10 college squads.
Another Glaswegian golfer, Alasdair Forsythe (Davis and Elkins College) finished joint 27th in a field of 65 players at the WVIAC Central Regional college competition at Canaan Valley Golf Club, Davis in West Virginia.
Forsythe, top scorer for his college team of five, had rounds of 79 and 72 for 151 over a par-72 course of 6,984yd.
Davis and Elkins finished eighth in a field of 13 teams.
