Top 10 finish by Jessica Schiele in Oklahoma
Jessica had scores of 75 and 77 for a total of 152 over the par-72, 5957yd course.
She finished eight shots behind the winner, Kelsay Kirkpatrick Northeastern State) (74-70) who had a shot to spare over team-mate Whitney McAteer (73-72).
The British trio of students at Newman University, Wichita - Linzi Allan from Ayrshire, Megan Birdsey from Bedfordshire and Alyssa Balding from Northumberland, finished joint 50th, 56th and 61st respectively.Linzi had scores of 83 and 81 for 164, Megan 88 and 78 for 166 and Alyssa 86 and 82 for 168.
Northeastern State, despite their 1-2 in the individual standings, did not win the team title. That went to Tarleton State with a total of 592, eight ahead of Northeastern State. Redlands (625) came fifth and Newman (649) 12th of 16.
Anna Carling's 69 her best yet in United States
A third place finish by Anna Carling, pictured, helped Arkansas State University to take first place in the Lady Red Wolf Classic, their home tournament, for the second year in a row at Sage Meadows Country Club, Jonesboro.
Anna’s 69 in the first round over a par-72 course of 6,141yd, was the lowest score in the tournament and her best to date in her young college career but subsequent rounds of 78 and 77 left her on 224, five strokes behind the winner Alex Lennartson , a Swedish freshman at Murray State University. Murray State finished the tournament in second place, one stroke behind Arkansas State. This was Anna’s second top three finish in four tournaments this semester.
Top 20 finish in Virginia by Kim Bradbury
Derbyshire's Kim Bradbury (Old Dominion University) achieved a top-20 finish in the quaintly-named Tribe Invite at The Hollows women's college tournament at The Hollows Golf Club, Montpellier, Virginia.
Over a par-71 course of 5,829 yardage, Iim had rounds of 77 and 79 for a total of 156 which earned her a share of 18th place behind the winner, Emma Jonsson (Morehead State, Kentucky) (70-73).
Another Old Dominion student, Emma Gilmore from Ireland finished joint 27th in the field of 58 players with scores of 83 and 77 for 160.
Gemma and Nikki do well in
Payne Stewart Memorial
Gemma Hardie (Central Arkansas) from Scunthorpe did very well indeed to finish joint fifth in a huge field of 98 playeres at the Payne Stewart Memorial Tournament at Highland Springs Country Club, Springfield in the state of Missouri.
Gemma, pictured right, had rounds of 76, 73 and 75 for a total of 224 over a par-72 course of 6,108 yardage.
A second player from England in the field was Nikki Dunn from Harrogate, Yorkshire. She is now a student at Texas A and M, Corpus Christi, having transferred from Florida International.
Nikki, pictured lower left, finished joint 13th on 229 with scores of 77, 76 and 76.
Victory by two shots from a group of three players went to Kelly Amundrud (Bradley) (71-74-76) with a five-over-par total of 221.
