Paul Ferrier just outside top 20

Former Scottish boys' match-play champion Paul Ferrier (Baberton), a student at the University of Charlotte, finished joint 23rd in a field of 78 players at the VCU Shootout college tournament at Hermitage Country Club, Manakin, Sabot in Virginia.
Ferrier, pictured, had rounds of 70, 77 and 72 for a three-over-par total of 219 over the par-72, 6,955yd course.
He finished 11 shots behind the winner, Nate McCoy (Iowa State) (69-68-71).
Another Scot in the field was former Scottish junior champion of champions and past Scottish schoolboys title-holder, Neil Henderson (Glen), a student at Old Dominion University, Neil had rounds of 73, 74 and 78 for 225 which earned him a share of 47th place.
Old Dominion team-mate Tom Wilde from Berkshire tied for 67th place on 232 with scores of 77, 77 and 78.
UNC Wilmington (862) won the team title by a shot from Wake Forest. Charlotte (874) finished sixth and Old Dominion (904) last of the 14 teams.

James Tisdale from Liverpool, a freshman student at Bethany College, finished runner-up in the Ottawa Invitational college tournament at Eagle Bend, Lawrence in Kansas.
Tisdale had rounds of 70 ad 72 for a two-over-par tota of 142 over a par-70 course of some 6,536yd. He finished a shot behind the winner, Jake Bowser (Sterling College) (69-72).
Bethany College team-mate Jack Hiscock, a junior year student from Swindon, finished joint ninth in a field of 55 players with rounds of 79 and 70 for 149.
Bethany College - "The Swedes" - won the team event by eight shots in a field of nine squads.

Helensburgh's David McGregor (Post University, Connecticut), pictured right, finished joint second in the Century Links Invitational with scores of 72 and 69 for 141, two shots behind the winner, Zach Edmondson (ECU (69-70)
At the same college event, Darren Smith (Barton College) from Arcot Hall, Northumberland and Mark O'Hara (Mount Olive) from Liverpool finished joint 27th on 151 in a field of 65 players  over a par-72, 6912yd course.
Darren had rounds of 77 and 74, Mark scored 76 and 75.
David Shields from Glasgow, also a student (sophomore) at Mount Olive, finished joint 50th on 159 with scores of 78 and 81.
Cape Fear CC (578) won the team title by four shots from Barton College A with Post (586 third) and Barton College B fourth on 596 in a field of 16 teams.
