US COLLEGE NEWS

Seven-birdie recovery by Scott Lambert

 at North Carolina

England’s Scott Lambert from Northumberland, a junior (third year) student at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke (UNCP), finished in a tie for 17th position yesterday in a field of 68 competitors at the Myrtle Beach Invitational played over the Rees Jones Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort, North Carolina.
Scott, pictured, shot rounds of 79 and 72 to finish at seven-over-par 151, and his college team, the UNCP Braves, finished in the runners-up spot behind Coker College in the team title event.
UNCP junior Jordan Walor lost in a play-off to Jake Murphy of Coker College for the individual honours.
Walor, Murphy and Adrian Kisbey of King College all ended their second round with total scores of 143 (-1). Murphy emerged victorious after one play-off hole, giving him medallist honours for the tournament.
Scott Lambert' second round of level par 72 started bogey, double-bogey but he then had an excellent run of seven birdies and a three-under-par back nine stabilised his round at level par.
