Kim's birdie feast wins Lorena Ochoa Invitational

FROM THE AOL GOLF NEWS SERVICE
Kim In-Kyung came out of the pack with a brilliant birdie-feast of a final round of 64 to win the Lorena Ochoa Invitational by tree strokes at Guadaljhara, Mexico.
The South Korean's third career LPGA crown arrived after posting nine birdies and one bogey over her final round to move to 19 under for the tournament.
Kim hit six birdies over the front nine including four in a row just before the turn. Further birdies at 11 and 15 pulled her further clear of the pack before her one error, a dropped shot at the 17th, was cancelled out by another birdie at the final hole.
Overnight leader Suzann Pettersen from Norway failed to build on her one-stroke advantage at the start of the day, shooting six bogeys but undone by a double bogey at the fourth that handed the impetus to Kim.
Karine Icher of France finished in third place, her final-round 68 leaving her on 15 under overall, while American duo Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer finished one shot further back.
Angela Stanford enjoyed the best round of the day, her bogey-free nine-under 63 setting a new course record at the Guadalajara Country Club as she finished in a tie for seventh place.

North Berwick's Catriona Matthew earned $11,682 for a joint 25th place finish on level par 288. She had a disappointing last round of 77 after earlier steady efforts of 70, 71 and 70. The Scot is 39th on the updated LPGA money list with 2010 earnings of $264,716 from 19 events.
