McCOLL MAKES TOP TEN IN TEXAS
Jordan McColl from Dundee, a student at New Mexico Junior College, finished 10th in a field of 27 players at this week’s Gaines County Fall Invite college golf tournament at Gaines County Golf Club, Texas.
McColl, pictured, a member at Scotscraig Golf Club and beaten in the quarter-finals by champion-to-be Michael Stewart at this year’s Scottish amateur championship at Gullane, had rounds of 72 and 75 for 147, three over par for the 6,603yd course.
He finished 10 shots behind the two-stroke winner, Richard Farmer (Midland Community College) (71-66 for seven-under 137).

Tom Robson shares fourth place in Florida
Tom Robson from Waterlooville near Portsmouth, Hampshire, a student at Jacksonville State University, Alabama, tied for fourth place in a field of 44 players at the Stetson University Invitational college tournament at Victoria Hills Golf Club, DeLand in Florida.
Over a par-72 course of 7,082yd, Tom had rounds of 69, 73 and 72 for a total of two-under-par 214. His opening round was only one shot behind the leader. Robson finished four shots behind the winner by one stroke, Daniel Mazziota (Florida Gulf Coast University) who had rouns of 70, 68 and 72.
Florida Gulf Coast (857) won the team title ahead of Jacksonville State (867) in a field of nine teams.
Laura Cutler makes top 20 at Hatters Classic
Laura Cutler (Jacksonville University, Florida) finished 16th of 46 at the Hatters' Classic hosted by Stetson University - "The Hatters" - over the Victoria Hills Golf Cub course (par 72, yardage 6106) at DeLand, Florida.
Laura, pictured, who hails from Essex, had scores of 78, 73 and 769 for 230 - 13 shots behind the runaway winner by nine strokes, Mitsuki Katahira (Daytona State) (72-68-67 for nine-under 207).
Two Welsh girl internationals, Kelly Miller (Daytona State) and Rachel Lewis (South Carolina Upstate, Spartanburg) finished joint 19th and joint 29th respectively.
Kelly scored 81, 73 and 79 for 233 while Rachel had rounds of 84, 79 and 82 for 245.
Daytona State (893) tied with Stetson for the team title ahead of third placed Jacksonville (894). USC Upstate (1000) came eighth of nine teams.
