Nairn Dunbar's Eilidh Mackay beat Rebecca Wilson (Grange, Monifieth) in a quarter-final battle between two Stirling University students in the First Flight of the Jones-Doherty match-play golf championship at Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale in Florida today.
In this Orange Blossom Tour competition, restricted to those beaten in the first round of the championship flight, Eilidh won at the 19th.
England's Lauren Blease, who had edged a one-hole win over Stirling student Harriet Beasly (Woburn) in the previous round, was knocked out in the quarter-finals by the top seed, C Martin - but the American only won at the 19th.
Martin now plays S West in the first semi-finals while Mackay plays A Dulman from the US in the other.
Charley Hull, the 14-year-old Kettering, Northamptonshire, girl golfer who finished second in the South Atlantic women's amateur stroke-play championship at the weekend, has a chance tomorrow to turn the tables on the American winner, Jaye Marie Green.
They are both playing in the Jones-Doherty match-play championship.
Charley, the No 3 seed, reached the last four with a one-hole win over American S Molen while Green won her quarter-final by 3 and 1 over Argentina teenager Victoria Tanco who beat English Curtis Cup player Holly Clyburn (Woodhall Spa) in the second round.
Hull and Green both had the same qualifying score on Monday but Green was named second seed after a card countback.
Top seed Kyle Roig (Puerto Rico) plays American A Hancock, the 13th qualifier in the other semi-final.
Roig won her quarter-final by one hole against Meghan Stasi who played for the United States in the 2008 Curtis Cup match at St Andrews.
Hancock won by one hole against one of former tennis ace Ivan Lendl's golfing daughters, Daniela.
