No 3 seed Charley Hull, the 14-year-old rising star from the Woburn club, and two Scots, Jordana Graham (Southerness) and Alyson McKechin (Elderslie), pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, are through to the last 16 of the Jones-Doherty match-play championship, the third event on the Orange Blossom Tour, at Coral Ridge Country Club, Florida. Charley, runner-up at the weekend in "The Sally" - South Atlantic Ladies Amateur championship, scored a 6 and 5 win over the No 30 qualifier, A M Levin.
McKechin, the No 19 qualifier, scored a good 6 and 4 win over the 14th qualifier A. Dulman - and now Alyson, a Scotland girls cap, crosses swords with Charley Hull for a place in the quarter-finals.
Graham, the 16th qualifier, squeezed through at the 19th in a thriller of a tie against the 17th qualifier, C Martin.
Jordana's next opponent is the top seed and leading qualifier Kyle Roig who had a bye into the second round.
Curtis Cup player Holly Clyburn (Woodhall Spa), the No 10 qualifier, had a 6 and 5 win over Stirling University student Eilidh Mackay from the Nairn Dunbar club.
Holly now plays the highly-rated Argentina junior Victoria Tanco, the No 7 seed.
England's Lauren Blease, the 24th qualifier, lost by 5 and 4 to the No 9 qualifier Meghan Stasi who played for the US in the 2008 Curtis Cup match at St Andrews and had been three times US mid-amateur championship.
Stirling team-mate Rebecca Wilson (Grange, Monifieth), the 15th qualifier,  lost by 5 and 3 to Paige Malinchak, the 18th qualifier.
