WOODS AND ALBRECHT SHARE HARDER HALL INVITATIONAL LEAD
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY HARDER HALL COUNTRY CLUB
The 56th annual Harder Hall Women’s Invitational has already been record setting when in the first round Ashleigh Albrecht set the course record with a 63.
After three rounds Cheyenne Woods, the second-round leader, is tied with Ashleigh Albrecht, the first-round leader, at a record pace of 10 under par 206.
The Harder Hall tournament record is 13-under-par, set in 2009 by Candace Schepperle.
After 54 holes there are five players who are at least six under par and with good weather predicted, it looks like the tournament record could be broken by many golfers.
The shot of the third day was by US Junior Ryder Cup player Ginger Howard who had a double eagle (an albatross) on the par 5 sixth hole en route to a 66 which propelled her into seventh place.
BRITISH AND IRISH VIEWPOINT: Curtis Cup player Holly Clyburn (Woodhall Spa) from Cleethorpes, runner-up in last weekend's Dixie Amateur, is on target for another high finish in the Harder Hall Invitational.
Holly followed up earlier rounds of 70 and 72 over the par-72 course with a 69 for 211 to be five shots behind the joint leaders in sixth place.
GB and I team-mate, 16-year-old Leona Maguire from Ireland's Slieve Russell Club has shot 72, 69 and 72 for three-under-213 and a share of eighth place.
Charley Hull, only 14 years of age, from Kettering, Northamptonshire, is tied for 10th place on 220 with scores of 75, 69 and 76.
Leona Maguire's twin and Curtis Cup team-mate Lisa is on the 225 mark with rounds of 74, 75 and 76 for a share of 24th place.
Scottish champion Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) is heading the Stirling University contingent in joint 31st place overall on 2265. Kelsey has scored 77, 73 and 76.
Former Scotland junior cap Rebecca Wilson (Grange, Monifieth and Stirling Uni) is on 236 with rounds of 84, 74 and 78 - six shots ahead of Tennessee University student Rebecca Watson (Elie and Earlsferry) who slipped back with an 86 for 242, the same mark as Scottish girl international Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) who enrols at Stirling in the autumn. Alyson had a third-round 80.
Two more Stirling students, Eilidh Mackay (Nairn Dunbar) and Harriet Beasley (Wobur ) are on 255 and 257 respectively. Eilidh had a third-round 85 and Harriet an 84.
Jordana Graham (Stirling Univ and Southerness) also had an 86 for 244.
