BINGHAM AND THACKER JUST MISS TOP 20 AT SEA ISLAND GC

South Carolina-Beaufort University English students Jack Bingham from Stockport and George Thacker from from Ashbourne, Derbyshire finished joint 21st and joint 23rd respectively in a field of 51 players at this week's Coastal Georgia Men's Invitational college tournament at Sea Island Golf Club on St Simons Isle, Georgia.
Overe a par-72 course of 6,920yd, Jack scored 81 and 80 for 161; George 83 and 79 for 162.
Winner by the handsome margin of six shots was Case Gard (Abraham Baldwin CC) who scored 75 and 69 for level par 144.
Shorter (619) won the team title ahead of SCAD-Savannah (627), Coastal Georgia (628) and SC-Beaufort (629). Nine teams took part.
