PETER TARVER WINS ST ANDREWS SPRING INVITE IN US

Peter Tarver from Worthing, Sussex, a senior-year student at Belmont Abbey College, Charlotte in North Carolina, scored his second win on the US college golf circuit this week.
He won the St Andrews Spring Invite men's college tournament over 36 holes at Woodlake Resort and GC, Pinehurst in North Carolina.
Peter, pictured right, had rounds of 69 and 73 for 142 over a par-72 course measuring 6,954yd.
He won by seven shots from three players: team-mate Adam Hedges from Bromley (79-70), Ben Ross (Limestone) (75-74) and Matthew Latham (St Andrews Presbyterian) (75-74).
A third Belmont Abbey College player, Tom Stephenson from Bury St Edmunds, finished joint 15th on 164 with scores of 86 and 78.
Belmont Abbey College (596) won the team title by 27 shots.
Mark Dickson from Edinburgh and Kyle Godsman from Hopeman, Morayshire - both students at the University of South Carolina-Aiken (USCA) - finished joint 17th and 24th respectively in a field of 75 at this week's Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate tournament at Wexford Plantation Golf Club, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Dickson had rounds of 74, 79 and 72 over the par-72 course of 6,828yd, for a total of 225.
Godsman scored 77, 76 and 74 for 227.
Winner by seven shots was Brant Peaper (Indiana University) with rounds of 72, 71 and 70 for a total of three-under-par 213.
Deeside GC member Tom Rennie, a student at Brevard College, Charlotte, North Carolina and a winner on the US college circuit last September, finished joint 22nd in a field of 55 players at the Old North State Invitational at Old North State Club, New London, North Carolina.
Rennie had rounds of 85 and 77 for 162.
Ross Earnshaw (Post University) from York finished 40th on 168 with scores of 82 and 86.
Helensburgh's David McGregor, also a Post University student, scored 84 and 85 for 169 and a share of 41st place.
Curtis Brotherton (High Point) won by four shots with rounds of 76 and 72 for four-over-par 148 over a 7,102yd course.
Jack Hiluta (South Alabama) from Cheltenham tied for second place in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at Magnolia Gove GC, Mobile in Alabama.
Hiluta had rounds of 74, 72 and 66 for a four-under-par total of 205 over the 7,212yd course.
Baberton GC member Paul Ferrier, winner of the Scottish boys' match-play title at Dunbar in 2007 and now a student at Charlotte University, North Carolina, finished joint 38th in a field of 84.
Ferrier had rounds of 75, 76 and 73 for an eight-over-par total of 224 over the longish par-72 course, measuring 7,212yd. He finished 19 shots behind the winner by seven, Jason Millard (Middle Tennessee University) who had rounds of 70, 72 and 63 for 11-under-par 205.
Webber International University, Florida students Connor O'Dell from Taunton, Somerset and Tom Gamble from Walton-on-Thames, finished joint sixth and joint 19th respectively in the Thomas University Winter Invitational at Kinderlou Forest GC, Valdosta, Georgia.
Over a par-71 course of 6,936d, O'Dell had scores of 74 and 75 for 149 while Gamble scored 79 and 76 for 155.
Taylor Welborn (Darton CC) won by a shot with a pair of 72s for 144.
A field of 61 players took part.
The English and Welsh students at Frank Phillips College, Bolger in Texas, were out in force at The Wrangle Tournament at Split Rail Links and Golf Club, Aledo in Texas.
Brad Hannah (Frank Phillips) finished joint 10th behind Nathan Anderson (McLennan CC) who won the individual title by seven shots with rounds of 71 and 68 for 139 over a par-72, 7,353yd course.
Hannah, from Whitehaven, scored 74 and 77 for 151. On the same mark were two more Frank Phillips College students, Jonathan Levey from Newcastle (71-80) and Richard James from Wales (77-74).
Chris Bell (Odessa) from Wales finished joint 16th on 152 with scores of 77 and 75.
Steve Evans (Frank Phillips College) from Wales and team-mates Louis Brown from England and another English student, Louis Laviscount finished joint 26th, 35th and 41st respectively.
Evans scored 74 and 83 for 157; Brown 80 and 82 for 162 and Laviscount 89 78 for 168. Odessa (599) won teh team tiel ahead of Frank Phillips College (607) and McLennan (611).
