BRONTE LAW SHOWS HER CLASS TO WIN MURCIA LADIES OPEN

Bronte Law, from Bramhall Golf Club, Stockport, confirmed her rating as an outstanding England prospect when she clinched victory today in the Murcia Ladies 36-hole open amateur stroke-play championship with a brilliant three-under-par second round of 69 over the Dave Thomas-designed Hacienda del Alamo Golf Resort course in the Murcia region of south-east Spain. Although Hayley Davis returned a 66 during the Festival last year, not many girls/ladies have broken 70 off the ladies' tees at Hacienda del Alamo, so all credit to Bronte.
it was another fine, warm day with temperatures reaching 20 degrees! The testing Hacienda breeze did not get up until later and there were a few sunburnt bodies leaving the course!
The presentation took place at the popular Spaniard Inn where complimentary Sangria (without alchohol!) was served. Several competitors, families and friends then stayed on to enjoy a meal, which was followed by a fun quiz, hosted by Kevin and Jo of The Spaniard Inn.
Finally, a special presentation of a bottle of cava (provided by the Murcia Wine Club) was made to Audrey Lee, who was celebrating her 70th birthday!
