NEW CLOSING DATE FOR FALDO SERIES UK ENTRIES

The Faldo Series Europe has extended the closing date for entries into its nine UK events until Monday 7 March
The deadline has been moved back from Monday 28 February, meaning the UK’s top young golfers have an extra seven days to enter what is a record schedule comprising nine events in England, Scotland and Wales plus others as far afield as Ireland, Bahrain, the Czech Republic, Russia, The Netherlands, Greece, Brazil, Germany and Slovakia.
All 18 events on the 2011 Faldo Series Europe schedule are divided into five age group categories (Boys’ Under-21, Boys’ Under-18, Boys’ Under-16, Girls’ Under-21 and Girls’ Under-16) with the five age group winners at all of them earning a place in the 15th Faldo Series Europe Grand Final, to be played at the Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, on September 12-14.
The five winners at Lough Erne will then be invited to the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, to be staged at Mission Hills Golf Club, China, in March 2012.
Both Grand Finals will be hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, founder of the Faldo Series, and played on courses designed by the six-time Major Champion.
Faldo Series graduates include Rory McIlroy, Nick Dougherty, Marc Warren, John Parry, Yani Tseng, Melissa Reid and Florentyna Parker, all winners on Tour.
This year’s Faldo Series Europe schedule, which is open to boys and girls born in 1990 or later, starts with the 36-hole Faldo Series UK Championship at Moortown GC, Yorkshire, on April 6-7 and also includes eight other 36-hole UK stroke-play events at West Lancs GC, Lancashire (April 20-21); Walton Heath GC (Old Course), Surrey (May 4-5); Royal Ashdown Forest GC, East Sussex (May 17-18); Trentham GC, Staffordshire (June 8-9); The Roxburghe G & CC, Roxburghshire, Scotland (June 29-30); Pyle & Kenfig GC, near Bridgend, Wales (July 4-5); The Grove, near Watford, Hertfordshire (August 22-23); and Notts GC (Hollinwell), Nottinghamshire (August 30-31). The 15th Faldo Series Europe Grand Final is staged over 54-holes at the acclaimed Lough Erne Resort on September 12-14.
