NICOLE WHITMORE FIFTH IN BIG FIELD FOR LADY MOC CLASSIC

Nicole Whitmore (Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida) finished a creditable fifth in a field of 83 players at this week's Lady Moc Classic at The Club at Eaglebrook, Lakeland, Florida, on the US women's college circuit.
Nicole, pictured, from Milton Keynes, had rounds of 71, 75 and 75 for a five-over-par total of 221 over the 6,255yd par-72 course.
Team-mate Abbey Gittings from Tamworth finished joint 13th on 233 with scores of 74, 78 and 81.
Another English-born student, Melissa Siviter (Belmont Abbey College, Charlotte, North Carolina), from Coseley in the West Midlands, finished alongside Abbey on the 233 mark with scores of 78, 76 and 79.
Two Nova Southeastern University players finished at the top of the leaderboard on two-over-par 218 - Sandra Changkija (74-71-73) and Taylor Collins (80-68-70). No word on the GolfStat service of a play-off for the individual title.


Meanwhile, Hannah Lovelock (Missouri University), pictured left, from Surrey finished joint 45th in a field of 75 players at the Central District Invitational women's college tournament at River Wilderness Country Club, Parrish in Florida.
Over a par-72 course of 6,099yd, Hannah had scores of 74, 77 and 78 for 229.
Aberdeen-born Katy Cardno, a student at Texas Christian University, shared 50th place on 230 with scores of 75, 81 and 74.
Nicola Race (Missouri) from Essex finished in joint 55th place on 232 with scores of 76, 82 and 74.
Austin Ernst (Louisiana State University) won the individual honours with rounds of 72, 69 and 72 for three-under-par 213.
Iowa State (868) won the team title ahead of Louisiana State (877) and Texas A and M. Texas Christian finished fourth of 15 on 887. Missouri (939) finished last of 15.
