SALLY WATSON DOWN THE FIELD IN FIRST US EVENT OF 2011

Curtis Cup Scot Sally Watson finished a disappointing joint 31st in a field of 83 players for this week's Arizona Wildcat Women's Invitational tournament, the first event of the second half of the US collge golf season for Sally who is originally from South Queensferry but the family home is now at Elie.
A second-year student at Stanford University California, Watson, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, had rounds of 76, 78 and 76 for a 14-over-par total of 230 -- 18 shots behind the winner, French player Isabelle Boineau, a student at the host Arizona University. She scored 69, 70 and 73 for a four-under-par total of 212 over the 6250yd, Vistoso Golf Club course at Tucson, Arizona.
Runner-up was Joanne Lee (California) with rounds of 71, 68 and 75 for 214.
Sally had three double bogeys over her first two rounds. She had three birdies in her final round but seven bogeys nullified the high spots.
