SIAN AND SARAH DOWN THE FIELD BEHIND CIGANDA IN CALIFORNIA
Sian Evans (East Tennessee State University) from Gillingham and Ireland's Sarah Faller (Denver University) from Galway finished down the field in the Northrop Gruman Regional Challenge women's college tournament at Palos Verdes Golf Club, California.
Over a par-71 course of 5,912yd, Sian, pictured right, scored 79, 79 and 74 for a total of 232 and joint 36th place.
Sarah, pictured below, left, had rounds of 80, 88 and 80 for a share of 63rd place.
Winner by two shots was Spain's former British women's open amateur champion Carlota Ciganda (Arizona State) with scores of 73, 70 and 72 for two-over-par 215. Runner-up was Natalie Shearey (Wake Forest with 76, 67 and 74 for 217.
South Carolina (884) won the team title ahead of ARizona State (886) with UCLA (8876) third. Denver (938) came 10th and East Tennessee State (941) 11th in a field of 13 teams.
SCOTS STUDENTS MEET UP AT LAKELAND, FLORIDA
Western Florida (858) won the team title ahead of Georgia College (862) with Florida Southern (865) third. Lynn (870) came sixth and Clayton State (949) last of the 14 competing teams.

Meanwhile, Scottish students Daniel Young (Lynn University, Florida) from Perth and a member of Craigie Hill Golf Club, and Clayton State University's Chris McManus from Bearsden, Glasgow and Clark Nelson, a former Stirling University student, met up at the Matlock Collegiate Classic college tournament at Lone Palm Golf Club, Lakeland in Florida.
Over a longish course of some 7,065yd, with a par of 72, Daniel, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, had ever-improving rounds of 76, 73 and 70 for 219 and a share of 26th place in a field of 75 players.
Chris shot 77, 73 and 75 for 225 and joint 44th place while Clark scored 78,80 and 80 for 238 and 71st place.Western Florida (858) won the team title ahead of Georgia College (862) with Florida Southern (865) third. Lynn (870) came sixth and Clayton State (949) last of the 14 competing teams.
