IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION NAME INTERNATIONAL TEAM CAPTAINS
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION
Claire Robinson (Knock), Niamh Kitching (Claremorris) and Roma English (Larne) will captain the Irish women's, girls' and senior international teams for the 2011 season.
Claire Robinson, a past Curtis Cup player, will once again lead the Irish team for both the European women's team championships to be played at Murhof Golf Club, Austria, from July 5-9, and the women's home international matches at Hillside Golf Club, Lancashire from September.
Dr Christine Crockett (Royal Co Down Ladies) will accompany the Home International side as team manager.
Niamh Kitching (Claremorris), a recent past international, will take up the reins as captain for the girls' European team championships, to be played at Is Molas, Sardinia, from July 5-9. Kitching will also captain the girls' home internationals team to compete at Gullane No 2, East Lothian from August 3-5. Seapoint’s Paula Reynolds will act as Team Manager for this event.
Roma English, with many years' experience of international events, will again serve as captain of the Irish senior teams for both the European senior women’s team championship from August 30 to September 3 at Blacksearama, Bulgaria, and the senior home international matches at Tramore from September 28-30.
