JAMIE CHAPMAN FROM SUSSEX WINS TENNESSEE TITLE PLAY-OFF

Jamie Chapman from Sussex, a sophomore student at Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate in Tennessee, won the Tusculum Invitational men's college tournament at Link Hills County Club, Greeneville, Tennessee at the weekend, writes Colin Farquharson (Colin@scottishgolfview.com).
Chapman won a play-off against Rafael Jackson (Walters State Junior College) after they had tied on two-under-par 140 over the par-71, 6,763yd course.
Chapman, pictured with his trophy, had a pair of 70s, Jackson a 71 followed by a 69. They finished two shots clear of the third-placed player.
Chapman's team-mate, Luke Butler from Worcester finished joint 59th in a field of 154 players with scores of 76 and 78 for 154.
Aberdeen's Tom Rennie (Brevard College, North Carolina) scored 80 and 79 for 159 and a share of 87th place.
Stuart Bryson (Wingate University) from Motherwell shared 92nd place with rounds of 79 and 81 for 160.
Tusculum College (580) won the team event ahead of Lincoln Memorial (583). Brevard College (630) finished 17th of the 19 competing teams.

GAVIN JUST OUTSIDE TOP TWENTY AT TALLAHASSEE

Gavin St John Frost from Berkshire, a student at Jacksonville University, finished joint 21st in a field of 96 players at the Seminole Intercollegiate men's tournament at Southwood Golf Club, Tallahassee in Florida.
Gavin had rounds of 74, 75 and 69 for 218 over a par-71 course of considerable length: 7,141yd.
There was a three-way tie at the top on 208 between Drew Kittleston (Florida State) (72-69-67), Sebastian Cappelen (Arkansas) (68-71-69) and Jeff Karlsson (Kennesaw State) (71-70-67). No word of a play-off.
Arkansas (844) won the team title ahead of Kennesaw State (847) with Florida State (849) third. Jacksonville (892) finished 13th of 18 teams.
