LIZI SWEETNAM GAINS THIRD TOP-THREE FINISH AT TEXARKANA

Leighton’s Lizi Sweetnam this week gained her third top-three finish in six tournaments in her first season with Arkansas Tech University since transferring from Oklahoma.

Over a par-71 course of 5,554yd, Lizi (pictured) returned back-to-back scores of 80 for a total of 160 in the Southern Arkansas Mulerider Invitational women's college tournament held at North Ridge Country Cluyb, Texarkana, Arkansas.

She finished seven shots behind the winner, Whitley Patterson (Southern Arkansas) who had scores of 77 and 76 for 153 and six-shot win from runner-up Kyle McIsaac (Arkansas Tech) (81-78).

Lizi tied for third place with Ragan Muncy (Harding University) (82-78).

Arkansas Tech were team winners at this tournament for the third year in a row. Their total of 642 was their second lowest of the season.
