New Zealand youngsters Cecilia Cho and Lydia Ko maintained their overnight positions to finish first and second in the Women's Riversdale Cup tournament at Melbourne.
Cecilia, also pictured right with the Riversdale Cup individual trophy, only 16 years old and No 2 in the new Women's World Amateur Rankings. made most of the running in the 72-hole prestigious event with rounds of 73, 65, 73 and 70 for an 18-under-par total of 281 over the par-73 course.Lydia, just 13 years of age and No 3 in the Women's World Amateur Rankings, finished four shots behind on 285 with scores of 73, 68, 75 and 69.
South Korea's Su-Hyun Oh came third on 287 with rounds of 72, 72, 73 and 70.
With brilliant teenagers like Cecilia and Lydia in their line-up, New Zealand will be among the leading teams for the Astor Trophy (formerly the Commonwealth Tournament), played every four years at venues around the world and this June being hosted by the Ladies Golf Union at Fairhaven Golf Club, Lancashire.
