Stephanie Meadow's recent run of very good form faltered in the LSU Classic at University Club, Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the weekend - but the teenage Alabama University freshman student from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland still finished fourth in a quality field of 111 players.
Stephanie, pictured right, looked set for a third victory in almost as many weeks when she led with one round to go after scores of 73 and 71 for level par 144 over the testing 6,194yd course.
But Meadow, normally the straightest of hitters and not prone to run up double bogeys, had two of them in a final round of four-over-par 76 for a total of 220.
She bogeyed the second, had a double bogey 6 at the long third but birdied the seventh to be out in two-over 38. Another double bogey 6, at the 14th, knocked her down to fourth place behind Lindy Duncan (Duke University) (72-75-71 for 218) and Anna Karin Ljungstrom (Louisville) (75-74-69 for 218).
Duncan won a sudden-death play-off with a par at the third extra hole.
Emily Tubert (Arkansas) (78-70-71) finished third on 219, a shot ahead of Meadow.
Arkansas (888) won the team title ahead of Virginia (895) with Alabama, Duke and Tennessee (900) sharing third place in a field of 21 teams.

Lizzi Over from Lincolnshire, pictured left, a student at Barry University, Miami, finished seventh in a field of 43 players at the El Diablo Intercollegiate women's tournament at El Diablo Golf and Country Club, Cirtus Springs, Florida.

Eastern Kentucy and Florida Atlantic tied on 931 for the team title, four ahead of St John's. Barry finished sixth of seven.

"It was a truly great day. I was so proud of my wee lassies.
I think that was the 10th team win and seventh individual titles (since she became women's head golf coach). I'm proud of my Mocs (note, not Lady Mocs).
"I'll have my first seniors (fourth-year students) later this year as it is our fourth year having a program. We are in a great place right now. Losing Emma de Groot and Christine Wolf at the end of the college year will be a tremendous loss. Our program has been built around them, and they have led this team both on and off the golf course.
"We had the department-high 3.72 team GPA (an educational mark) so they are not just winning on the golf course - they are doing very well in class as well. This is a truly special group. I am a very lucky and blessed golf coach."
