THREE BRITS IN TOP 20 OF GENERAL HACKLER CHAMPIONSHIP

Paul O'Kane (East Tennessee State University) from Castledawson, Northern Ireland had the highest finish of the five British and Irish students in the field of 92 players for the General Hackler Championship college tournament which finished at TPC of Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on Monday.
Senior-year student Paul, 22, pictured, had rounds of 74, 73 and 76 for a total of 223 over a par-72, 6,950yd course. Tennessee University's Darren Renwick from Working and Garrick Porteous from Northumberland also made the top 20.
Darren scored 76, 74 and 74 for 224 and a share of 17th place. Garrick's rounds were 82, 70 and 73 for 225 and joint 19th place.
Back in joint 27th place was Walker Cup team candidate Kevin Phelan (North Florida University) from Wat4rford. Kevin's last round let him down - 74, 74 and 79 for 227.
Farther down the field was a second East Tennessee student, Patrick Spraggs from Rochford, England. He scored 81, 80 and 79 for 240 and a share of 68th place.
Sweden's Henrik Norlander (Augusta State) won the individual title by four shots with good scores of 74, 69 and 67 for six-under-par 210. 
Augusta State (878) won the team title ahead of Virginia (881), Auburn (890) and Tennessee (893). North Florida (908) came eighth and East Tennessee State  (916) 10th in a field of 17 teams.

TOP TWENTY FINISH BY KIRSTY RANDS IN LADY JAGUAR

Kirsty Rands from Surrey, a student at Augusta State University, made the top 20 in a field of 90 players at the Lady Jaguar intercollegiate women's tournament at Forest Hills Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia.
Kirsty, pictured, had rounds of 71, 79 and 74 for a total of 224 and a share of 18th place over a par-72 course of 5,963yd.
Stephanie Gough from Aylesbury and a student at Middle Tennessee State finished joint 68th on 238 with scores of 81, 81 and 76.
Winner with an 11-under total of 205 was Kirsty Rands' Augusta State team-mate Casey Kennedy with excellent scores of 68, 66 and 71 for 205. She won by five shots.
But Augusta State did not win the team honours. They finished second with a total of 880, 21 shots behind Purdue. Middle Tennessee State (914) finished ninth of the 17 competing teams.
