She was the shooting star of the Scottish female golf scene in 2010.
Now ex-Loretto School pupil Julie Yang - she will be 16 on July 8 - is back in the news.
The LPGA Tour's Kia Classic tournament committee announced today that its final two sponsor exemptions for its March 24-27 at Industry Hills Golf Club, Pacific Palms, Los Angeles would be LPGA rookie Shasta Averhardt .... and "Korean amateur Julie Yang."

Averyhardt and Yang will be part of a star-studded field of 144 of the world’s best female golfers competing in the $1.7 million Kia Classic. The tournament brings the LPGA back to Los Angeles for the first time in six years.
Out of nowhere, Julie Yang won the Scottish schoolgirls championship at Murrayshall last June ... then the Welsh women's open amateur title ... and was pipped for the German women's open amateur championship, all at the age of 14 going on 15.
Then she left Loretto, played out of Kings Acre Golf Centre for a spell and then departed these shores for goodness knows where.
Maybe she went back to Phoenix which seemed to be classed as "home" when she was winning American Junior Golf Association events by the barrowload.
Now Julie - her Korean name is actually Cha Ryung Yang - pops up again in the States. I for one will be looking out for her scores in the Kia Classic later this month.
