EILIDH BRIGGS IN GOOD FORM AT RENFREWSHIRE TITLE DEFENCE
By CAROL FELL
Defending champion Eilidh Briggs continued her good play in the match-play stages of the Renfrewshire county championship by two convincing 7 and 6 wins in both the morning and afternoon ties at Haggs Castle Golf Club.
She was one under par in both games when she defeated Denise Cowan in the morning and then Renfrewshire County Team mate Gillian Kyle in the afternoon -- again being 1 under par. She now meets Alyson McKechin in top half of the draw in tomorrow's semi final.
Alyson was two under par when she "disposed" of your webmaster Carol Fell in the morning and then had a ding dong battle with 10 times past Renfrewshire champion Donna Jackson and eventually won 2 and 1.
In the bottom half of the draw Carol Whyte had a good win against local Haggs Castle player Nicky Henderson and then played well in the afternoon to beat up and coming youngster Linsey Stevenson.
