The other countries taking part are:
Great Britain and Ireland.
Australia.
Canada.
New Zealand.

The tournament is played every fourth year and the most recent one, in 2007, was staged at Royal Johannesburg, South Africa and won by Great Britain.

Each match consists of two foursomes in the morning and five singles in the afternoon.

Great Britain has always won the tournament when it has been played in this country - 1959 at St Andrews, 1975 at Ganton, 1991 at Northumberland GC.

The trophy was presented by Nancy, Viscountess Astor and was first played for in 1959 under the title "The Commonwealth Tournament." This year's event is the first to be known as the Astor Trophy tournament and, for the first time, it will be a Great Britain and Ireland team of five players rather than Great Britain alone as has been the case since 1959

+There will be no admission charge for spectators at Fairhaven Golf Club.
