TEN SCOTS GIRLS FOR WALES - BUT MAGUIRE TWINS PULL OUT
Ten Scots are in a field of 59 for this weekend's Welsh women's open amateur stroke-play championship over 54 holes at Tenby Golf Club.
They are: Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), Jane Turner (Craigielaw), Rachael Watton (Mortonhall), Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm), Alyson McKechin (Elderslie), Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey), Rebecca Wilson (Grange), Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) and Rebecca McGeehan (West Rhine).
The 16-year-old Maguire twins from Slieve Russell, Co Cavan, Ireland, were pulled out of the championship today because their parents, who had a prior commitment, could not travel with them to South Wales. Leona led for most of the way before being pipped for the Helen Holm Scottish women's stroke-play title at Royal Troon on Sunday. She and Lisa won the international team event for Ireland.
