Sophomore (second year) student Abbey Gittings, pictured right, from Tamworth, Staffs finished second behind team-mate Sandra Changkija as their college, Nova Southeastern at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, won the NCAA Division 2 Women's Super Region 2 title at The Club at Eaglebrooke, Lakeland, Florida on Tuesday.
Nova Southeastern are now heading for the NCAA Division 2 championship at Allendale, Michigan over 72 holes from May 11 to 14.
Sandra scored 72, 68 and 74 for a two-under-par total of 214 over the par-72, 6255yd course. Abbey scored 73, 76 and a very good last round of 68 for 217.
Melissa Siviter from Coseley in the West Midlands, a student at Belmont Abbey College, Charlotte in North Carolina, finished joint 15th on 228 with scores of 78, 76 and 74.
Had she managed to shoot a 73 in her final round, Melissa would have been third placed among the competitors whose teams did not qualify for the NCAA Division 2 championship and that would have sent her to Allendale, Michigan as an individual competitor. But Melissa had one shot too many and finished fourth in that category.
Nicole Whitmore (Nova Southeastern) from Milton Keynes came 36th on 239 with scores of 78, 82 and 79.
Ashton Ingram from Fort William, coming up to the end of her four years at Belmont Abbey College, has not played much golf, for one reason or another over the past year or two. But you could see the potential is still there in her scores: 96, 86 and 79 for 261 and 49th place.
Nova Southeastern (875) won the team title with Belmont Abbey (922) fifth of nine.

TIFFANY QUALIFIES AS INDIVIDUAL FOR NCAA DIV 2 CHAMPIONSHIP

Tiffany Hewetson, pictured above, from Brighton, a freshman student at Grand Canyon University, Arizona won herself a ticket to the NCAA Division 2 championship at Allendale, Michigan by finishing fifth in a field of 49 at the NCAA Division 2 Women's Super Region 4 at Tascosa Country Club, Amarillo in Texas.
She was the second top individual among the players whose teams did not qualify for the Division 2 championship - and the first three in this category  are going forward.
Tiffany scored 79, 77 and 76 for a total of 232 over a par-72 course of 5,964yd.
Team-mate Georgina Dunn from Peterborough finished joint 32nd on 245 with scores of 77, 84 and 84 for 245.
Georgina, like Scottish team-mate, Jacqueline Sneddon from Meigle, was playing in her last US college golf competition after four years in the States.
Jacqueline had rounds of 85, 80 and 82 for a total of 247 and a share of 35th place.
Carla Cooper (Tarleton State) was the individual winner by five strokes with a a six-over-par total of 222, made up of rounds of 73, 73 and 76.
