Aberdeenshire’s squad for the North Division inter-county team matches at Inchmarlo Golf Centre, Banchory from June 25 to 27 includes two youngsters new to county golf – Kimberley Beveridge (Aboyne), who is 15, and 18-year-old Claire Prouse (Hazlehead).
At the other end of the scale, Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies) will be representing Aberdeenshire for the 28th successive year.
Kimberley, pictured left by Cal Carson Golf Agency, is the Aberdeenshire girls’ champion and finished sixth in the recent SLGA Under-16 girls’ open championship at Strathmore.
Claire, pictured below by Cal Carson Golf Agency, reached the semi-finals of the Aberdeenshire women’s county championship at Murcar last month before losing to international Laura Murray (Alford).
A blow to Aberdeenshire’s hopes of beating title-holders Angus, Northern Counties and Perth and Kinross and going forward to the Scottish women’s county championship finals at Dumfries and Galloway GC in September as divisional champions is the loss of county champion Donna Pocock (Murcar Links). She is out of action with a foot injury.
