PEEBLES PLAYER AILSA BAIN (19) IS BORDERS CHAMPION

Peebles teenager Ailsa Bain recaptured the form that won her the Scottish Under-18 girls' golf title in 2009 when she won the Border women's county championship at The Roxburghe at the weekend.
The No 2 seed, Ailsa, now 19, bear Leanne Wilson (Kelso), the 14-year-old, 16-handicap surprise packet of the championship, by 7 and 5 in the final.
Leanne won the county Bronze Division title last year and earlier in this tournament ousted the No 4 seed, Venetia Scott at the 20th.
Top seed Judith Anderson (Hawick) was beaten in the quarter-finals by No 8 qualifier Danielle Ker (Roxburgh).
Wendy Underhill (Hawick) beat Kath Fletcher (Hirsel) 3 and 2 in the Handicap championship.
