PERTH PAIR BOUND FOR NCAA DIV 2 CHAMPIONSHIP IN ALABAMA

Perth pair Daniel Young and Paul McPhee, both students at Lynn University, Boca Raton in Florida, are heading for the NCAA Division 2 national championship at Florence, Alabama after Lynn's success in the NCAA Division 2 Men's South/South-east Region tournament at Victoria Hills Golf Club, Deland in Florida this week.
Lynn headed a field of 20 teams with a total of 869, four shots ahead of runners-up Barry. The top five teams advance to the national championship final later this month.
Young, pictured right, had scores of 76, 74 and 71 for 221 and a share of 25th place. McPhee shot 80, 78 and 75 for 233 and joint 86th place in a field of 108 players.
Lynn's effort was spearheaded by Ricardo Gouveia who had the joint best total of four-under-par 212 over a par-72, 7072yd course, scoring 67, 74 and 71 to tie with Michael Marshburn (Barton College, North Carolina).
Peter Tarver Jones from Worthing, a student at Belmont Abbey College and a winner on the US circuit earlier in the 2010-11 college season, finished joint 34th on 223 with scores 67, 76 and 80.
Belmont team-mate Adam Hedges from Bromley finished joint 53rd on 226 with rounds of 72, 77 and 77.
Jack Bartlett from Worthing, a student at Nova Southeastern, shot 81, 77 and 69 - pity there wasn't a fourth round! - for a total of 227 which saw him finish joint 58th.
Glasgow's Gavin Hay (Carson-Newman) and Scott Lambert from the North-east of England, a student at UNC-Pembroke, finished joint 63rd on 228. Gavin was undone with a final round of 84 after promising rounds of 73 and 73. Scott shots 76, 75 and 77.
Liam Ashby (Carson-Newman) from Dublin tied for 72nd place on 230 with scores of 76, 78 and 76.
Kyle Godsman from Morayshire and a student at USC-Aiken finished joint 82nd on 232 with scores of 81, 75 and 76.

JAMES TISDALE JOINT THIRD AT BUFFALO DUNES

Liverpool's James Tisdale, pictured, a student at Bethany College, Kansas, finished joint third in this week's KCAC Conference Championship at Buffalo Dunes, Garden City in Kansas.
Over a par-72 course of 6806yd, James had rounds of 77, 81 and 68 - outscoring the winner, Tim Jasper (Southwestern College) by six shots over the final round - for a total of 226 - nine shots behind Jasper who won by five with scores of 70, 73 and 74 for 217.
Another Bethany College student, Jack Hiscock from Swindon finished joint 10th on 232 with scores of 72, 84 and 76.
And a third Bethany man, Adam Glover from Brentwood, Essex tied for 18th place in a field of 35 players with scores of 79, 82 and 76 for 237.


ROSS MILNE 13th AT LAWRENCE IN KANSAS

Ross Milne from Aboyne, a student at Dodge City Community College, finished 13th in a field of 55 players at the NJCAA Division 1, District 3 Championship at Alvamar Golf Club, Lawrence in Kansas.
He had scores of 77, 78 and 78 for a total of 233 over a par-72 course of 6778yd.
Winner by one shot was Steven Ihm (Indian Hills) with 78-77-73 for 227.
Dodge City finished fourth of nine behind Indian Hills in the team event.
