FROM THE GOLFWEEK.COM WEBSITE
Oklahoma State University star Peter Uihlein, a certainty for the United States' Walker Cup team to play at Royal Aberdeen in September, picked up the coveted 2011 Ben Hogan Award on Monday night in Texas, beating out teammate Kevin Tway and UCLA frosh sensation Patrick Cantlay to win the prestigious award.
Uihlein is the second Cowboy in the past four years to win the award, joining close friend Rickie Fowler
During Golfweek.com's exclusive, live webcast, Uihlein also Tweeted that he would be back at Oklahoma State for the 2011-2012 season, choosing to play his senior season instead of turning pro.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State coach Mike McGraw said that junior Morgan Hoffman wouldn't be returning for his senior year, opting to turn pro sometime after nationals.
